Pinasa is an Ayurvedic description of a nasal disorder that may occur independently or as a complication of other conditions.
It may be associated with sneezing, cough, headache, nasal discharge, irritation of the throat and eyes, and reduced quality of life.
Stages of Pinasa
Ama / Apakva Pinasa
The immature stage may include heaviness of the head, nasal discharge, a thin or altered voice, weakness and continuous spitting.
Pakva Pinasa
The mature stage may involve blockage of the nasal passage with thick mucus or secretions.
Ayurvedic Management
After consultation, care may include internal herbal medicines and external treatments such as snehana, swedana and nasya, supported by personalised dietary and lifestyle guidance.
